Prostsafe Plus: The Alternative Formula for Prostate Health
by L. Stephen Coles, M.D., Ph.D.

These days, every man over forty should be using a high quality, laboratory-certified formula for prostate health. But if Prostsafe® hasn’t brought the results you need, newly available Prostsafe® Plus, with its slightly different formulation, may do the job.

Pygeum Background
One of the herbal ingredients Prostsafe Plus contains is Pygeum africanum, a traditional healing medicine derived from the bark of an evergreen African tree found on the high-elevation plateaus of southern Africa.
Today, scientific evidence from European studies shows Pygeum africanum consistently and reliably reduces symptoms of BPH (Benign Prostatic Hyperthropy), and that it may work in cases where saw palmetto berry (found in Prostsafe) does not.

Pygeum Promotes Semen Volume
W
hen it comes to men’s potency problems, pygeum has shown very promising results.
Medical studies indicate pygeum may improve prostatic secretions or the volume of your semen; thus, it is a highly valuable ally in men’s quest for sexual vigor and for maintaining lifetime potency and virility.

Men who use pygeum regularly enjoy highly increased volume of seminal fluid upon ejaculation, with increases in alkaline phosphatase and essential proteins.

Help for Sexual Inadequacy
Besides pygeum, the formula provides ashwaganda root. Also known as Withania somnifera, winter cherry, or in Sanskrit as ashwaganda, the root of this erect shrub is a rich source of the alkaloids somnine, somniferine, withanine, tropine, psuedotropine and anaferine, which help in increasing the sense of well-being and improving sexual performance. The formula also provides nettle root, pumpkin seed, and saw palmetto berry, each of which has a slightly different mode of action on the prostate.
Natural Health Tip: Prostsafe Plus is a viable alternative prostate health formula. It is available only from Whitewing Labs. Purchase Prostsafe or Prostsafe Plus from the order form in this journal.

Antihistamines vs. Non-toxic Allergy Relief
It’s springtime. That means it’s allergy season. Allergies, including allergic rhinitis (i.e., hay fever), affect an estimated 40 to 50 million people in the United States. Some allergies are tolerable but, for many people, they interfere with day-to-day activities and lessen the quality of life.
Allergic rhinitis takes two different forms: seasonal and perennial. Symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis occur in spring, summer, and/or early fall, and are usually caused by allergic sensitivity to pollens from trees, grasses, or weeds, or to airborne mold spores. Other people experience symptoms year-round, a condition called “perennial allergic rhinitis,” which is generally caused by sensitivity to house dust, house dust mites, animal dander, and/or mold spores. Underlying or hidden food allergies are considered a possible cause of perennial nasal symptoms. Some people may experience both types of rhinitis, with perennial symptoms worsening during specific pollen seasons.

Not surprisingly, allergy drugs are perennial “best-sellers.” Although many people use over-the-counter or prescription antihistamines, some of the older antihistamines may be associated with significant feelings of drowsiness and other central nervous system effects. The newer nonsedating antihistamines such as acrivastine, astemizole, cetirizine, loratadine, and terfenadine can increase risk of ventricular arrhythniias. Small children, elderly patients and persons with chronic renal or liver impairment are special groups susceptible to the adverse effects of second-generation antihistamines.

RestPiration from Whitewing Labs is a natural alternative. One of the formula’s Himalaya herbs, Tylophora indica, even in small doses, has been shown to provide relief of bronchial asthma symptoms. In one study, funded by the Indian Council on Medical Research, 62 percent of 53 patients given the herb experienced moderate to complete relief of symptoms, compared with only 28 percent of patients given a placebo.

The researchers said, “We do not claim that Tylophora indica cures asthma; but the results of this double-blind trial seem to indicate that even after a small dose . . . there was complete to moderate degree of relief.”

Picrorhiza kurroa, also found in RestPiration, is a small herb with tuberous roots that also grows in the Himalayan area at altitudes of 9,000 feet elevation and higher. It is excellent for safely inhibiting histamine release.

The Asian herb Scutellaria bialensis (Chinese skullcap) has been used for centuries as a treatment for allergic and inflammatory conditions. Its natural properties help to inhibit histamine release. Astragalus, which is traditionally used in Chinese medicine, helps to tonify the immune system. Magnesium helps to relax bronchial smooth muscles and acts as a bronchodilator.

RestPiration is more well-rounded than antihistamines typically used for allergic conditions. It promises many of the same benefits plus helping to address underlying immune hypersensitivities that provoke allergic asthma, rhinitis, sinusitis and related conditions, yet without any of the complications.

Natural Health Tip: If this spring finds you with allergies or sinusitis, RestPiration from Whitewing Labs is a worthy alternative. Unlike first or second-generation antihistamines, RestPiration with its contingent of Himalayan herbs, poses no toxicity problems whatsoever. It does not cause drowsiness or cardiac arrhythymias, yet has clinical validation. Purchase from the order form in the center of this journal.
