Not Enough Sleep |
|
| Do you find yourself suffering intrusive, unwanted thoughts at night? Do you
find yourself tossing and turning in bed without hope for a full night of sleep? If so,
you're not alone. Half of adult Americans take the same problem to bed: they cannot fall
asleep. Forty-nine percent of American adults suffer sleep-related problems such as
insomnia, says a Gallup survey of more than 1,000 adults and reported in USA Today. The frantic pace of modern society is leaving more Americans awake when they shouldn't be," says Dr. Allan Pack, medical director of the National Sleep Foundation, which sponsored the survey. Stress and work are the main culprits, he says. Sleeping problems are increasing. The survey found a 15% increase in the number of people who have had trouble sleeping at one time or another since 1991. That is attributed to aging and the growing demands put on people, says Thomas Roth, chief of the division of sleep medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. The baby boom generation is likely to become even more restless at night as the boomers age, according to the National Center on Sleep Disorders Research. Health Consequences of |

| The national health-care cost due to
sleep disorders is about $15.9 billion. Poor sleep quality is related to heart disease,
accidents, and early death. Another more insidious problem is immune dysfunction. Persons with intrusive thoughts and too much sleeplessness suffer from lower natural killer cell activity, leaving them vulnerable to cancer and other immune-related diseases, says researchers from the Department of Psychiatry, Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Pennsylvania in the January-February issue of Psychosomatic Medicine. to Good Sleep |
SleepSafe contains
key, safe sleep-inducing botanicals such as hops, valerian, kava and passionflower
combined with niacinamide and other B complex vitamins, melatonin, and magnesium and
calcium. My patients tell me the blend is positively synergistic. I know from working with
my patients that most persons need only a tablet or two of SleepSafe at night an
hour before they retire to enjoy blissful, deep, refreshing slumbers. A good night's sleep is tremendously important to your health. Too many of us are suffering from poor quality or lack of sleep. SleepSafe is such a simple, easy-to-use remedy that I wanted to tell you about it. I know it will help. As an added bonus, the magnesium and pyridoxine (vitamin B6) in SleepSafe also help to maintain healthy heartbeat throughout the night. For a better sleep, order SleepSafe from the order form in the center of the journal. |
